Session 1: GA Programs: On-boarding, Training, Systems, and Project Management
Thursday, July 14th, 2016
An informal round table discussion sharing best practices and asking questions on onboarding, training, general systems, and project management practices.

Session 2: Working with GA Staff – An HR & Financial Aid Perspective
Tuesday, August 9th, 2016
A Q & A session co-facilitated with Human Resources and Financial Aid. This session covered topics such as federal vs. institute work study funds, managing student hours, and student pay scales.

Session 3: Developing the GA Experience – Increasing Professional Development & Job Opportunities
Monday, August 15th, 2016
This brown bag session featured the topic of professional development opportunities for GAs – how to create a “resumé-able” experiences and a highly integrated staff/GA ecosystem.

Training: Management Practices for Graduate Assistant Supervisors
Thursday, September 8th, 2016
A half day session facilitated by Melissa Sorenson and designed in collaboration with Sheila Cameron. This session aimed to help participants develop their management skills specifically around working with Graduate Assistants. Topics included setting expectations, checking in, delegating, providing feedback, and other effective management practices.
